The Tandel Fund of Archives is a socially engaged archives and Ethnographic Pop-Up Museum of the Koli (Indigenous fishing tribe who are original inhabitants of Mumbai) community.A pool of archives is currently documenting sustainable knowledge regarding the ocean, and biophilic practices of Koli tribe in and around Mumbai. It seeks to forge connections with the public sphere through pop-up exhibits of archival material of each Koliwada (fishing village). TFA is closely collaborating with more than two hundred villages to archive data.It aims to serve as an archival tool through which information and narratives of the community can be disseminated through various art forms, and act as a living museum of memory.
