Spinning Drones is a powerful live performance by Indian artist Smiha Kapoor and Austrian sound artist Eva Ursprung, turning the charkha into a resonant sonic instrument. Rooted in Punjabi Trinjan rituals and wired with electroacoustic tech, it invites the audience to co-create through sound, gesture, and water-sensitive installations.
Kapoor has shown work at NUS Museum, ICA Singapore, and Schauspielhaus Graz, and is a member of The Artists Village, Singapore. Ursprung, a pioneer in feminist media art, co-founded Eva & Co magazine and is on the board of IMA (Institute for Media Archaeology), with a long practice in sound, performance, and digital art.
A rare, immersive experience of feminist solidarity, ritual, and resistance.
